Safeguarding and Child Protection

Beacon Academy is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all its children and young people. In December 2023, we were awarded the Wellspring Gold Standard Safeguarding award.

If you are ever concerned that a child is in immediate danger, you should contact the police on 999.

Safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone. If you are concerned that a child is being abused, or they may be at risk of harm, you should contact our Integrated Front Door Service (IFD) to make a referral:

Members of the public and professionals can call the IFD on 01472 326292 (option 2, option 2) (Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm and Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm).

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility

Where the school has concerns about a child, our dedicated Safeguarding Team comprising of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy DSL’s act as a source of support, advice and expertise to children, families and staff on matters of safety and safeguarding and when deciding to make a referral by liaising with the relevant agencies.
