We are pleased to share our latest report from Ofsted inspectors following a second monitoring visit.

You will see that they conclude we continue to take “effective action to improve the school”.

We have come a long way in a little over 12 months. Students and staff have settled into our fabulous new building and the academy’s leadership team and direction have completely changed.

I am proud to work alongside Ms Myers, senior leaders and the rest of our dedicated staff, driving improvement and making the necessary changes.

The considerable efforts by the whole team are acknowledged by Ofsted in its latest report, to be published this week, following an inspection in July.

We know there is plenty more to do but you, like Ofsted, can be reassured we have laid the foundations that will lead to sustained improvement, to the benefit of the children we serve.

You will be aware we have added capacity to our staff team and have changed procedures that will secure the best possible teaching and learning environment at Beacon Academy for years to come.

Inspectors highlight those changes and the improvements made in our provision for children with SEND.

We won’t always get things right first time, but I hope, like the inspectors, you see the improvements that are being made.

Our focus is on the future. By continuing to build the partnership between families and school, we will provide the best possible education that our students and this community deserve.
