Beacon Academy is over-subscribed for students entering the academy in September 2020 and due to our growth, we require teachers, or Leaders in the following subjects:

  • Admin/Receptionist (see full advert below)
  • Performing Arts Technician (see full advert below)

 

Admin Officer/Receptionist (SCP 3 – Actual salary £15,316/£9.36 per hour) – September 2020

The Governors of Beacon Academy are seeking to appoint an experienced receptionist to join the administration team of support staff. Main duties:

  • Perform reception and telephone duties to provide courteous advice, information and help to staff, pupils, parents and the general public, and ensure that the required checks have been made prior to allowing visitors’ access.
  • General office administration tasks, including photocopying, typing, post and supporting teaching staff with administrative tasks.

This role is 37 hours per week, term time plus 5 days (195 days).

Candidates will have good organisational and ICT competency skills, be able to work on their own initiative and have a keen interest in current educational practices.

Previous experience of working in a school would be an advantage, but not essential.

Performing Arts Technician – September 2020 (Casual) SCP 6 – £9.94 per hour

The Governors of Beacon Academy are seeking to appoint an experienced Performing Arts Technician to join the increasing team of support staff. Main duties include:

Overall purpose of this post:

To provide technical support for all aspects of Performing Arts  across the school and to undertake some general school support.

 Major objectives: These will include, as appropriate, those that reflect key corporate priorities.

  1. To ensure that the Performing arts  facilities are set up in time for each class, lesson or educational session.
  2. To ensure that the Performing arts facilities (dance drama & music) are set up and run appropriately for performances and assessments.
  3. To respond quickly and effectively to queries and requests for help from mentors, instructors, teachers and support staff.
  4. To keep abreast of new developments within Performing arts (dance drama & music) especially those relating to education and the curriculum subjects.
  5. To maintain adequate stocks of performing arts (dance drama & music) components and consumables.
  6. To maintain in good order, performance equipment in sound editing / video recording suite, lighting rigs in the hall and dance studios.
  7. To maintain scenery for the performing arts (dance drama & music) department and build new scenery / props as necessary, sourcing consumables.
  8. To maintain the costumes hygienically and to ensure it is easily accessible.
  9. To maintain the notice board displays for the department
  10. Oversees after school activities in performance areas including risk assessments.
  11. Helps to arrange extra curricular school trips and sources prices, e.g. visits to productions
